Summer of 2019- My Summer Job
Hey! How has your summer been? What have you been up to? I’ve been crazy busy, honestly.
You see, I graduated from high school in June and only then did I fully realize just how fast the next chapter of my life was approaching. College was closer and more expensive than I ever realized, so you know what that means; a full-time job was needed.
Luckily, my job at YFC fell right into my lap, and before I knew it my summer had turned into full days at work. As a 17-year-old girl, who overly enjoys sleep and Netflix marathons, the whole working all day, every day, was honestly something I had to get used to. Sure, school required me to be up and outta the house at a decent time but this is summer we’re talking about.
However, getting up and going somewhere you love, helps tremendously. After my first week at YFC getting up in the morning wasn’t all to hard anymore; I was getting up to do something I enjoyed. At YFC my gifts and passions were used in everything I did, and I was provided with opportunities that have allowed me to grow and develop as a person, as well as form connections with people whom I wouldn’t normally connect with.
These experiences are ones that I will apply to everyday life and use to become a fully functioning, responsible, adult (fingers crossed).
So although my 2 months of summer ended up being 2 months of work, I wouldn’t have traded it for anything.
